2023er Bremmer Calmont Klosterkaul Riesling Kabinett
The 2023 Klosterkaul Riesling Kabinett, as it is referred to on the front label, was made from fruit harvested early at 84° Oechsle from 70-year-old
vines in lower part of this prime Lieu-Dit in one of the steepest parts of the vineyard and was fermented down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar
(48 g/l). The nose is superb, complex and refined, with lovely floral notes of bergamot, anise, smoke, almond, yellow peach, and jasmine. The
palate has an excellent balance of ripe yellow fruits, candied citrus, and spices. The finish is precise and very long. This Kabinett superbly combines
ripeness and freshness. 2031-2043
2022er Bremmer Calmont Riesling GG
The 2022er Bremmer Calmont Riesling is a legally dry wine made from fruit harvested in the historic and fully south-facing part of the vineyard and
was fermented and aged in stainless steel tank for 10 months before being bottled. It has a very attractive and finely aromatic nose of grapefruit,
spicy rose, anise, smoke, lily flower, orange zest, and iodine. The wine is nicely zesty and comparatively light-weighted, and more creamy and fruity
elements come through on the mid-palate. The finish is taut, spicy, and superbly long. This is a great, fresh GG. 2025-2037
2022er Calmont Fachkaul Riesling GG
The 2022er Bremmer Calmont Fachkaul Riesling GG (the reference to vineyard, Katasterlage, vintage, and GG are only provided on the back label,
the front label shows a drawing of plots) is a legally dry wine which comes from the terraces in the upper part of this prime sector of the Bremmer
Calmont and was fermented in stainless steel tank for 8 months before being bottled. The first nose still shows smoky reduction with a fair amount
of freshness, before releasing notes of flintstone, greengage, earthy herbs, lime tree, plum, ginger, and black pepper. The wine is quite slender and
straightforward, with just a hint of roundness on the mid-palate. The finish is light and herbal, with a nice straight edge and plenty of freshness. This
wine will need a few years to develop its complexity, and clearly has potential if it gains structure and presence. 2027-2038
